PERSONAL CDS BY Ojamiren Patience Aimalokhi(Medical CDS)

 The National Youth Service Corps is a unifying organization that brings Nigerians together from all over the world. Corps members are enjoined to follow suit and remain steadfast towards the growth and attitudinal development of our society.

A lot of corps members just come to serve and leave after completing their one year of serving their fatherland. But there are few exceptions one of such is "Ojamiren Patience Aimalokhi" who took it upon herself to conduct a Community Development service(CDS) in her host community Bassambiri,Nembe local government area of Bayelsa state.

It is a remote community where so many families try to make ends meet and most depend solely on the government for basic allowances and healthcare. They also lack the adequate sensitization as regards to what they ought to know about daily survival. But in all honesty, the government cannot do it all that is why Patience chose a peculiar niche. The niche of health paying particular attention to the dangers of Intestinal worms and Neglected Tropical diseases.

All the schools within the Nembe-Bassambiri jurisdiction were visited and atleast 700 doses of both MECTIZAN and ALBENDAZOLE were administered. Albendazole to tackle the intestinal worms which they are prone to by virtue of the unsafe environment. And Mectizan to handle all Neglected Tropical diseases that may arise from the unsafe environment.

Lives were touched and Nigeria will become better with more selfless personalities like Ojamiren Patience Aimalokhi. In the same vein we enjoin all corpers all around the nation to contribute their own quota towards the growth of their host communities and in doing so ensuring peace and development in our beloved nation.
