OLD POST - TONGUES ROLL AS OPU-NEMBE CORPERS EMBARK ON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICE IN THEIR HOST COMMUNITY

remains one of the Cardinal programs of the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) ensuring cultural integration through inter personal relationship and ensuring that corps members do not just embark on their primary assignments but look towards the betterment of their host community.


Having this in mind, corps members serving in OPU-NEMBE community,Nembe LGA of Bayelsa state saw the need to make their presence felt by the host community. They came up with a program, "TOUCH A LIFE INITIATIVE" under the chairmanship of the C.L.O at the time Vincent Ebuka and the CDS coordinator Anyor J. Tor.


The program held on the 31/1/2023 and was geared towards providing free services to the host community which include: Hair dressing,baking, tailoring and amendment of torn clothing,shoe making,medical services among others.


Each department was headed by professionals who were all corpers. Some of which include:

MEDICAL: Anyiam Kennedy E(BSc,BLS,ACLS,ACIEHS) A certified human Anatomist with internationally recognized licenses in Basic life support,Advanced Cardiac Life Support as well as health and Safety with years of Clinical experience, assisted by IKECHUKWU (A certified Lab technologist) and Eunice(Pharm.) All corps members.

MAKE-UP: Headed by Henrietta Chiamaka,a renowned make-up artist.

BARBING: Headed by Chidi Chisom Promise(Batch A)

BAKING: Headed by David Esther, an entrepreneur (Batch A)

SHOE MAKING: Headed by Seyi, a serving corper. Assisted by Chidimma.

TAILORING: Headed by Dimkpa Samuel,assisted by Emmanuel Damilola and other persons.

HAIR MAKING: Headed by Edemadiden Vivian, assisted by a host of other female corps members.

GENERATOR REPAIRS: Headed by Oghenevwogaga Patrick.

Other activities were pedicure and manicure headed by Corper REBECCA,among others.

Worthy of note is that all these activities were "free of cost".

The corps members were applauded by the community and the good news of the event reached far and wide. Corps members are therefore advised to follow in their footsteps and intensity efforts towards bringing to life the core values of the NYSC and touching life through community development service.

It was on Wednesday evening, the CLO(Anyiam Kennedy Ekenedirichukwu) received a distress call from the Treasurer of the community improvement union stating that the Corps welfare had died.  Arterial blood pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood on the walls of the arteries. Blood pressure is measured in two major physiologic terms: Systolic pressure(range 110-140mmhg) and Diastolic pressure(range 60-80mmhg) Normal blood pressure is about 120/80(mmhg) Hypertension is a severe case of high blood pressure and it has a lot of ills.Hypertension can lead to damage of your arteries.
