OPU-NEMBE RESIDENTS,CORPERS MOURN THE DEATH OF THEIR CORPS WELFARE
Our tears are like the rain, like the blinding dust of this Earth. Indeed man is but dust.
It was on Wednesday evening, the CLO(Anyiam Kennedy Ekenedirichukwu) received a distress call from the Treasurer of the community improvement union stating that the Corps welfare had died.
This was shocking because the CLO just spoke to him few days earlier, the next day the CLO accompanied by two of his executives(Secretary and SAED coordinator) alongside the Treasurer paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased.
ACTUAL CAUSE OF HIS DEATH
After due consultations with his family, particularly his wife it was discovered that he had been battling with PROSTATE CANCER for some time. Most recently he had crisis due to chronic cold which led to him being sick for some days. He was moved to Yenagoa accompanied by his In-law,a Professor at Niger Delta University (NDU) after failure to respond to treatment. He gave up the ghost at a Yenagoa hospital.
The CLO,who is also a health worker with three years of Clinical experience deduced that his death was probably due to prolonged illness(prostate) which was poorly managed which inturn affected the body's immune response to diseases. On that ground, the common cold came to the body at a time where the body failed to optimally perform it's Homeostatic function by maintaining body temperature even after drug administration.
The CLO, Anyiam Kennedy E pledged the support of all corps members and promised to be of aid in whatever way necessary to support the family of the bereaved.
The Corps welfare was a cheerful soul with keen interest in the attitudinal growth of corps members, he was also a member of the PEGI GROUP OF HOUSES one of the autonomous leadership factions of the community. He was also the chairman of the OPU-NEMBE improvement union.
May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace as we pray that God grants his family the fortitude to Bear the loss.
