MASSIVE PROJECT TO TACKLE NON-AVAILABILITY OF CLEAN WATER IN BASSAMBIRI,NEMBE LGA BAYELSA STATE

 Ojamiren A. Patience continues to make tremendous impact in the lives of people around her. This time around, she placed her focus on the alarming exponential growth in cases of neglected tropical diseases which is prevalent in her host community Bassambiri in Nembe LGA,Bayelsa state.


The patriotic Corps member embarked on the project to enhance the availability of clean water in her host community while attempting to reduce the exponential growth of harmful microbes within the system through unsafe water. The project was officially open to the community for use on the 3rd of October,2022. 


The local Government Inspector, Sir Poiba Henry as well as other community dignitaries were present to witness the commissioning of this great project borne of passion and heartfelt patriotism.


Bassambiri,Nembe is one of those areas where water in most cases are unsafe for drinking,some persons are also subjected to drinking water from their river being left with no option despite the harmful ills that come with it. This great project done by Ojamiren A. Patience being placed in a strategic position accessible to many has attempted to solve the problem of nonavailability of clean water while reducing drastically the incidence of neglected tropical diseases.

OPU-NEMBE RESIDENTS,CORPERS MOURN THE DEATH OF THEIR CORPS WELFARE

 Our tears are like the rain, like the blinding dust of this Earth. Indeed man is but dust. It was on Wednesday evening, the CLO(Anyiam Kennedy Ekenedirichukwu) received a distress call from the Treasurer of the community improvement union stating that the Corps welfare had died. This was shocking because the CLO just spoke to him few days earlier, the next day the CLO accompanied by two of his executives(Secretary and SAED coordinator) alongside the Treasurer paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased. ACTUAL CAUSE OF HIS DEATH After due consultations with his family, particularly his wife it was discovered that he had been battling with PROSTATE CANCER for some time. Most recently he had crisis due to chronic cold which led to him being sick for some days.
